What if social skills practice didn’t feel like practice?
This summer, we’re bringing together neurodivergent tweens and teens for a therapist-led Dungeons & Dragons camp designed to build confidence, connection, and emotional flexibility — all through collaborative storytelling and adventure.
In this small-group experience (just 6 players), participants join a party of heroes navigating quests that require teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and creative thinking. Along the way, they’ll practice real-world social and emotional skills in a setting that feels safe, engaging, and genuinely fun.
What Makes This Camp Different?
This is not a typical summer camp.
It’s a thoughtfully structured, clinician-led group designed with neurodivergent nervous systems in mind.
Each day balances:
🎲 Collaborative D&D gameplay
🧠 Executive functioning support
💬 Real-time social coaching
🌿 Movement and regulation breaks
🍎 Snack and lunch built into the rhythm
🤝 Gentle reflection and skill-building
The goal isn’t “perfect social behavior.”
The goal is growth — in confidence, flexibility, and connection.
Skills We’ll Build (Without It Feeling Like Therapy)
Through immersive storytelling and supported peer interaction, participants will practice:
Social Communication
Turn-taking and active listening
Expressing ideas clearly
Perspective-taking
Navigating disagreements
Emotional Regulation
Managing frustration (even after a bad roll)
Coping with unexpected outcomes
Tolerating uncertainty
Recovering from mistakes
Executive Functioning
Planning and sequencing
Flexible thinking
Collaborative problem-solving
Staying organized within a group activity
Confidence & Identity
Safe role experimentation
Discovering strengths
Leadership opportunities
Belonging in a community of shared interests
Why Dungeons & Dragons?
D&D naturally creates opportunities to:
Work as a team
Negotiate plans
Handle setbacks
Think creatively
Practice self-advocacy
Build resilience
For many neurodivergent teens, traditional social environments can feel overwhelming or unclear. D&D offers structure, predictability, and shared focus — which lowers anxiety and opens the door to authentic connection.
It’s social growth disguised as adventure.
Who This Camp Is For
This group is designed for:
Neurodivergent tweens and teens (including ADHD, autism, anxiety, and related profiles)
Kids who love fantasy, storytelling, or strategy
Teens who struggle socially but thrive with shared interests
Thoughtful, creative kids who need a supportive peer space
Group size is intentionally limited to 6 participants to ensure safety, coaching, and meaningful connection.
Led by a Licensed Clinician
This camp is facilitated by a licensed therapist with extensive experience supporting neurodivergent youth. Teen assistants provide additional support to ensure structure, regulation, and engagement throughout the day.
This is a therapeutic enrichment experience — blending fun, growth, and emotional safety.
Because Every Hero Needs a Party
If your child has struggled to “find their people,”
if social groups have felt forced or uncomfortable,
if you’re looking for something that builds real skills without shame —
This might be their quest.
